Last Strange Matter Show

We played a show with Peyton’s other band Humungus (www.humungusrva.com) Yesterdays Saints and Lich King from Boston. The show went really well and everyone seems to really enjoy all the bands. Shows and The New Album

The Merciless souls show in Richmond, VA went great. Had a good turn out and got free food and beer, doesn’t get much better.

Peyton will be going on tour with his other band Humungus ( www.reverbnation.com/humungus) this coming week and after that we’re heading back into the studio to finish up the final mixing and master of the album. We’re hoping it will be done in early November and do a small CD release tour in late November or early December. We will post more information regarding that when we have it.

Richmond Show Merciless Souls Club House

We got added to a last minute show with Humungus and Street Pizza at the Merciless Souls Club House in Richmond VA. on Hull Street. Its $10 per person and $15 for a couple. Here’s a link to the Facebook event. Come drink beer and eat food with blast beats.

Studio Day 2

We were able to finish all rhythm guitar tracks and Sten’s solos the second day. Peyton used a Jackson SL1 Guitar through a Peavey 5150 out of a JCM 800 Marchall Cab. We used a Shure SM57 and a Ribbon mic and blended them to maximize the heaviness! Sten used a Schectar through a JCM 900 head and cab with a SM57 and a different Ribbon mic. Here’s some pics…

Studio Day 1

We started recording our new material today. We were able to get all of the drum tracks done for all 7 songs. We’ll be going back in tomorrow (Sunday) to hopefully finish all the guitar tracks then we will go back in a week or 2 to finish up vocals and bass and whatever else is needed.I attached some pics i took with my phone, not great but better than nothing. We also go some video footage of Evan tracking some blast beats and double bass at 235bpm, that will be posted soon.

Into the Studio

We’re are heading into the studio May 21st in Hampton, VA t0 start recording our next CD. We’re planning on having it done in late June 2011 and it should consist of 6-7 songs with new album art and new t-shirts designs. We’ll post some video footage of the studio session soon.

A Lots happend in the past few months. Kelan Hudson, our guitarist left to band and has been replaced by a shred lord who goes by the name of Sten. New pictures have been added with our new guitarist., and entire show has been added to our MySpace Video section which can be viewed here.

In other news we’re working on play shows more often and playing some in Richmond, VA and possibly some in North Carolina. So if your from that our be sure to check out those shows. More updates soon.

New Album!

Our new Album has been completed and will be released in May. We will have it available for sale, on this web site and our myspace, at shows and on iTunes. The Album features 5 new original songs heavier than anything we have released to date. IN other news will will be performing at Death Fest, May 11th. Line-up Change!

Ice Fortress has gained yet another member. Jon Zerbonia our bassist on Arctic Crusade (2006-2007) decided to leave the band and head away to college. The band was sad to see him go but had no choice in the matter, Jon Ransom offered to play bass, we practiced with him once and he seemed to fit in perfectly. In other news we have begun working on new material, heavier and more brutal than ever. We plan to enter the studio later 2007. For more information and updates please check back soon.
